Fun on the farm, at the fair

By From page A1 | July 17, 2014

The California State Fair Baby Barn, operated by the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, is always a family favorite. The Baby Barn is monitored around the clock by practicing veterinarians and veterinary science students. There, children can milk cows and goats, then make butter with the milk. The educational venue also explains the care and maintenance of dairy animals.

The Baby Barn is located right outside the Tractor Supply Co. Big Barn on the Cal Expo fairgrounds in Sacramento. The California State Fair continues through Sunday, July 27. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
