Fundraiser to help DHS band

By From page A3 | January 18, 2013

Davis High band members will celebrate the end of the first semester with an all-night music party and fundraiser beginning at 7 p.m. Friday in the Emerson Junior High multi-purpose room. The public is welcome to come and listen to the band for the first two hours, which features guest conductors and ninth-grade students. Family and friends of the band are invited to listen or bring your instrument and play along during this time. Donations will be accepted at the door.

DHS students will continue to play through the night. Those interested in sponsoring the students or supporting the band program, may mail a tax-deductible donation to P.O. Box 73722, Davis, CA 95617.

Depending on the level of fundraising, the first-year DHS director Tom Slabaugh has offered the incentive of students shaving his facial hair and head.
