At 1 p.m. Monday at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St., the Davis Genealogy Club will present the free lecture, “Organizational Techniques for the New Year” with researcher Kitty Cortez.
Over the years, Cortez has collected 13 three-inch binders full of family history documents that her children do not wish to inherit. In response, she has digitized and organized the material on her computer.
The kids will now each inherit a small flash drive instead of the many binders of material. Any document she needs to share is accessible in two minutes or less.
For more, visit www.davisgenealogy.org or call Lisa Henderson at (530) 753-8943.
The Davis Genalogy Club meets on the last Monday of most months and hosts speakers and discussion groups tackling family history problem-solving. New members are always welcome.
The center’s genealogy library is open every Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. A volunteer is available during these hours to help with questions.
