A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle in front of North Davis Elementary School, according to the Davis Police Department.

Lt. Tom Waltz said the girl, whose name was not released because she is a minor, was walking northbound in the crosswalk at East 14th Street and Cedar Place when she was struck by the eastbound vehicle at about 7:40 a.m. She was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries, Waltz said.

The driver was identified as Davis resident Idbin Acosta, 21. The collision remains under investigation, Waltz said.
