Soroptimist International of Davis will host its annual Texas Hold ‘Em poker night at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St., Davis.

Proceeds benefit local charities supporting women and children. If purchased by Feb. 14, tickets are $30 for general admission or $50 for tournament play. Prices go up $10 on Feb. 15.

Purchase tickets online at www.sidavis.org or contact Lea Rosenberg at 530-756-0697 or learose@jps.net.

The event includes a fast-paced poker tournament with professional dealers. The top three winners earn $500, $250 and $125 Visa gift cards. Tournament players must be seated by 6:30 p.m.

General admission ticket holders who want to learn to play Texas Hold ’Em poker — or who just want to play in a more relaxed atmosphere — can win gift baskets with spa day, movie night or Davis themes. There’s also a free drawing for one Southwest Airlines ticket for a non-tournament attendee. Plus, anyone who signs in at the front desk will have his or her name in a free drawing for a poker-themed basket.

The evening includes a feast of hearty appetizers and desserts by Jeff Oblinger of Inspiration Point Catering, a fully stocked Wild West saloon with Sudwerk beer, and plenty of fun games. Western wear is encouraged.

From now until the event, Soroptimist members are selling $10 raffle tickets for a chance to win two round-trip Southwest Airlines tickets to fly anywhere Southwest goes. While the drawing will be at the event, purchasers need not be present to win. For raffle tickets, contact Juelie Roggli at juelrog@gmail.com or 530-219-5444.

Soroptimist International is the largest classified business and professional women’s service organization in the world. Its mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

The Davis club, formed in 1954, has about 50 members, who meet for lunch on most Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. at the Davis Odd Fellows Hall. For more information or to register for a luncheon, visit www.sidavis.org.
