Harmony in Our Lives Award nominations sought
The West Valley Barbershop Chorus is seeking nominations for the 24th annual Harmony in Our Lives Award, given to individuals or organizations who have been significant, long-term contributors to the musical enrichment of the Davis community.
The recipient is selected by a committee of representatives from the chorus and the Davis Civic Arts Commission. The award is presented at the annual Harmony in Our Lives benefit show, planned for Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St.
Previous award recipients include Angelo Moreno, Claudia Krich, Mindy Manville, D. Kern Holoman, Jan Coker, Vivian Meyer, Karen Gardias, Bob Gonzalez, Celia Cottle, Stephen Peithman, Mary Klisiewicz, the Davis Musical Theatre Company, Larry Snyder, Anne Gibbs, Nancy Adams, Martha Dickman, Rachel Kessler, Margaret Neu, Fredrick Lange, Dorothy West, John Draper, Richard Brunelle and Ida Mae Harter.
Letters of nomination, which should include information that would be helpful to the selection committee, may be sent by Sept. 24 to Tom Powers, 634 Elmwood Drive, Davis, CA 95616.
