UC Davis neurology professor John Olichney will provide an update on recent advances in clinical trials research for Alzheimer’s disease from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the UCD Alzheimer’s Disease Center Community Discovery Lecture Series presentation. The event will be held in the auditorium of the UCD MIND Institute, 2825 50th St., in Sacramento.

Olichney is a behavioral neurologist specializing in cognitive disorders and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. His research at the Alzheimer’s Disease Center includes studies of language and memory using neuroimaging techniques.

His presentation will highlight recent advances in clinical trials that have surpassed solely treating the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. He also will discuss preventive strategies that may help with memory loss for those at risk of the condition.
