Gari Hegedus, a master of string instruments — both plucked and bowed — in Balkan and Middle Eastern music, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Village Homes Community Center, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. West. Tickets are $13 in advance — available by emailing info@timnatalmusic.com or calling (530) 867-1032 — or $15 at the door. Hegedus has studied with Oud master Naseer Shamma and recorded and performed with Ross Daly. He has been one of the most active players in the San Francisco Bay Area and has collaborated with Stellamara, Teslim, Janam, The Helladelics and Eliyahu & The Qadim Ensemble. This concert is an oud recital, dedicated to the art of the oud and featuring four different instruments, each with its own voice.
