The Department of Campus Recreation and Unions has joined forces with UC Davis Stores to sponsor a holiday food drive that will benefit UCD students and Yolo County families in need.
Donations may be brought to any of the drop-off locations across campus and downtown until Friday, Dec. 13. As an added incentive, donors will receive a UC Davis Stores coupon for $5 off any purchase of $25 or more.
Accepted food items include canned goods (stew, chili, soup, beans), tuna and canned meat, peanut butter, low-sugar cereals, 100 percent fruit juices, canned fruit packaged in juice and canned vegetables. Perishable or frozen foods and items in glass will not be accepted.
All food items collected will be donated to the Yolo Food Bank and The Pantry at UCD.
Food may be donated at the Activities and Recreation Center, Craft Center, Games Area, Equestrian Center, Outdoor Adventures (now located at the former Rec Pool Lodge), Student Services Center and the UC Davis Stores downtown and at the Memorial Union.
