Host families needed for international students

By From page A4 | May 10, 2012

International high school exchange students are coming to study in the Davis area during the 2012-13 school year. These students will integrate themselves into a local family with the goal of experiencing American culture as an American high school student does. In turn they will provide insight into their own culture.

STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, helps facilitate these relationships. They have been doing so for the past 20 years and look forward to finding new host families in Davis and connecting them with exchange students.

Among the students this year are a 16-year-old boy from Denmark and a 16-year-old girl from Norway. Both will have their own spending money and health insurance.

The host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a loving and safe environment. Those interested may contact Lillian Clemente at (800) 522-4678 or [email protected]. For more information, visit www.stsfoundation.org.
