Hucklebucks sing the blues at Picnic in Park

The Hucklebucks, two-time Sammie winners as Best Blues Band, will perform blues, rock ‘n’ roll and soul music Wednesday at Picnic in the Park in Central Park.

Their set runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the celebration alongside the Davis Farmers Market, Third and C streets in downtown Davis. Their New Orleans-flavored roots music with rollicking piano and bluesy guitar delivers a fresh take on some old-time favorites and hot original songs.

The market is open from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and is filled with spring and summer vegetables and fruits — cherries, apricots, berries, peaches, nectarines, green beans, squash, tomatoes and more — plus local eggs, honey and cheeses. ‘

Buy dinner at the international food fair — and wash it down with beer and wine sold by the Soroptimists, to benefit local charities — or bring a picnic from home.

Children’s entertainment includes the Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, the bicycle-powered carousel, face-painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
