Humphrey Fellows share tales from their countries

By From page A5 | July 29, 2014

This summer’s first Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Global Forum takes place Wednesday, July 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at International House, 10 College Park in Davis.

Eighteen speakers from 15 countries will discuss their research and what they hope to learn during their studies in the United States to bring back to their home countries.

The Humphrey Program brings accomplished mid-career professionals from designated countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Eurasia to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate study and related professional experience. UC Davis Extension has hosted the Humphrey Fellows for the past 18 summers for their pre-academic orientation and training.

Fifteen additional Humphrey Fellows will speak at a second Global Forum at International House on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Refreshments and light snacks will be served.
