By From page A2 | December 04, 2012

A Davis woman was hospitalized Monday morning after her vehicle collided with a big rig on Interstate 80 near Richards Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Morgan Shirail Burton was traveling westbound on I-80 at about 1:20 a.m. when she attempted to pass the big rig, CHP Officer Bryan Konvalin said. Her Lincoln Zephyr struck the left rear of the rig’s trailer, causing Burton to lose control of the vehicle, which rolled over.

Burton, 18, was transported to Sutter Davis Hospital for precautionary reasons, Konvalin said. The driver of the big rig, 44-year-old Robert Gregory Howell of Rescue, was not injured.
