International House, Davis, will host its second International Festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, featuring music, food and dance — all with an international flair. The event, which takes place at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St., acknowledges nearly 32 years of welcoming international students and scholars to Davis and providing educational and cultural opportunities for the Davis community.
Last year, more than 3,000 people attended the free festival, which will offer informational lectures and a children’s global village with music, magic and games. There will be more than 20 country tables devoted to education and games about particular areas of the world.
In addition, visitors are invited to browse an ethnic marketplace where vendors will sell international wares and arts and crafts. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be for sale.
New this year, children and their parents will gather at 11:30 a.m. at 10 College Park for a bike parade to the Vets’ Memorial.
