I-House hosts pre-festival party May 26

By April 14, 2011

The International House will hold a potluck dinner and celebration at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at 10 College Park.

International House is hosting a gala International Festival on Saturday, Oct. 1, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Center. The May 26 event is a pre-festival party, giving people a chance to wear their national dress and bring a national dish to the potluck.

Entertainment will be provided by Dennis Kurata’s taiko drumming group, “Taiko Dawn,” and an International Festival video will be made featuring those who attend the May 26 event.

“The International Festival in October is going to be a fabulous event,” said I-House President Calvin Handy. “This is a warm-up. It promises to be a fun pre-party featuring some of the restaurants, musical groups, lecturers and national groups who will be at the International Festival. It is free and open to the public, so please join us!”

For more information on the May 26 party or the International Festival, contact Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director of International House, at (530) 753-5007.
