I-House hosts weekly open-mic series

All ages are welcome at the premiere of an ongoing series of open-microphone informal cultural exchanges of music, spoken word and graphic art from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday at International House, Davis.

The programs will be ongoing weekly through May at I-House, 10 College Park.

The first night will showcase Viramundo, featuring Scarlet Huber, performing Brazilian sambas and bossa novas with lyrics sung in Portuguese ; artist Matthew Harral with his coffee paintings; and other participating international students and scholars.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted with gratitude. Beverages and desserts will be available for purchase.

International students and community members are invited to take advantage of the open microphone, and a featured performer will present a half-hour set each week.
