By From page A4 | February 16, 2012

A class in beginning calligraphy is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Community Room at International House, Davis, 10 College Park.

The workshop will be free but instructor Marlene Lee will charge $15 to cover materials and copy fees.

The maximum class size is 12. To reserve a space, contact Lee at (530) 756-0698 or [email protected]

Lee took her first calligraphy class more than 20 years ago at the UC Davis Craft Center. Through workshops offered by the San Francisco Friends of Calligraphy, she learned different styles and creative uses of calligraphy.

“Now I have a home business where I produce calligraphy for my clients, from poems to addressing envelopes,” she said.

Parking is available in the I-House lot and on the street nearby.
