Indecent exposure suspect arrested

After agreeing to meet with a Woodland police officer, a Davis resident was arrested Thursday for indecent exposure and booked into the Yolo County Jail.

At approximately 5:12 p.m. Thursday, Woodland police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of California Street for a report of an indecent exposure that had just occurred. This incident was similar to other recent incidents involving a suspect in a gold vehicle; however, in this instance, the 12-year-old female victim and a friend were able to get the license plate of the suspect vehicle.

Speaking with the victim — whose name is not being released due to her age — the investigating officer learned that the suspect was able to get the victim’s attention and then expose himself to her as she walked by his vehicle.

The investigating officer had an outside agency contact residents at the address registered for the vehicle, asking that someone call back. When the officer received a phone call back, the officer said he needed to contact the person driving the car and, several minutes later, the officer received a phone call from the suspect, who agreed to meet the officer in Woodland.

After a field interview and a subsequent interview by a detective at the Woodland Police Department, 22-year-old Quang Huy Vo was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail, where he is being held on $100,000 bail.

Detectives are looking into other recent incidents to determine if the same suspect is responsible for those crimes as well.

Anyone with any information concerning this or other similar incidents is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411.
