Community members are invited to the CA House’s annual Indian dinner and silent auction on Saturday, Oct. 15, to benefit the student programs and activities of CA House and its multifaith living community.
The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Davis Community Church’s Fellowship Hall, 421 D St., and will feature an Indian dinner prepared by local resident Mary Philip, a silent auction and entertainment by students from the multifaith living community.
Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for youths and students. Children age 9 and under can attend for free. To purchase tickets, become a sponsor or donate auction items, contact CA House at (530) 753-2000 or [email protected]
“The multifaith living community provides an inspirational, fun and enriching experience for students of different faiths to come together to build understanding and lifelong friendships, while working together toward a more peaceful and just world,” said Clay Ballard, board chair, in a news release.
“It’s only fitting that our annual fundraiser would feature an eclectic mix of auction items, food and entertainment. This is a fun event that ensures we can continue to offer an inclusive community for students.”
The menu will include Indian specialties such as samosas, chicken and vegetable biryani, sautéed vegetables, raita, rice pudding and cardamom tea. The silent auction will feature vacations, entertainment items, food, art and services donated by Davis businesses and CA House board members.
CA House is a nonprofit inclusive, progressive campus ministry supported, in part, by the United Methodist Church of Davis and Davis Community Church. The multifaith living community is beginning its fourth year as a residential program for students of all faiths. Thirty-four students live in six townhouses built around a central courtyard behind the CA House on Russell Boulevard.
