Join the Sierra Club for morning walk

By From page A4 | April 25, 2013

Sierra Club hosts brisk morning walks in Davis on Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round. The group meets at 7 a.m. at Peet’s Coffee in the Market Place, Covell Boulevard and Sycamore Lane, off Highway 113. All are welcome. Rain will cancel the walk.

The walk is about 4.5 miles in 90 minutes, returning to Peet’s Coffee at 8:30 a.m. Walk sites include the Davis greenbelts, ponds, fields, ditches, dirt paths, gardens, downtown, Village Homes, the UC Davis campus or the Arboretum.

Walkers may see turkeys, Guinea fowl, geese, raptors, jackrabbits, coyotes and other wild life. Note Jean Jackman’s column, “At the Pond,” in The Davis Enterprise: http://www.davisenterprise.com/search/Jean%20Jackman%20column.
