Yolo Hospice’s “Journaling through Grief” is a monthly facilitated group that will explore and express thoughts, feelings and reactions to grief in a non-judgmental and confidential atmosphere.
“Journaling can help clarify and give expression to grief,” a news release said. “Experience the power of hearing others’ stories and sharing yours at your own comfort level.”
Participants should bring their own writing materials and journal to the drop-in group, which meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Yolo Hospice offices, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, in South Davis. Upcoming meetings are Jan. 7 and Feb. 4.
The facilitator will lead the group in journaling through structured exercises and stream of consciousness (free flow of thought) writing. Group participants write during the group and independently. The participants will share their writing only if they feel comfortable.
Attendance is free and no registration is required. For more information, call 530-601-5756 or visit www.yolohospice.org.
