Peregrine School is offering intensive, one-week filmmaking workshops this summer for children in grades 4-8, and there are still a few spots left.
The workshops will include lessons in visual literacy, screenwriting, cinematography and editing. Each student will write an original
screenplay of his or her own, while collaborating to produce the screenplay of their choice into a five- to 10-minute film.
Participants also have ample opportunity to create additional stop-motions, claymations, short films and trailers of their choice.
The finished films will be screened for friends and family at the end of the week, and each student will get a DVD copy of the movies to
take home. Films also will be submitted to DCTV Channel 15 for airplay.
The dates for the workshops are July 1-5 (no school July 4), July 8-12, July 22-26, July 29-Aug. 2 and Aug. 12-16. The cost is
$295 per session. All sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Peregrine School’s elementary campus, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite C, in South Davis. Students should bring a lunch each day; snacks will be provided.
