“Mini-Musicals” director Mindy Manville will again be offering her “Kinder” version of these popular classes when she presents “It’s a Bug’s Life,” beginning in late February at the Davis Art Center.
This charming, age-appropriate musical was written by the director and includes fun songs about bugs and the gardens they live in.
“Mini-Musicals” allow for nearly all students to perform on stage during all scenes and learn the basics of staging and microphone etiquette.
“If there are students who would like to try singing solos/duets on stage, we will conduct very casual testing of vocal ranges and movement abilities during the second week of class,” Manville says.
Weekly classes will begin on Monday, Feb. 27, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The cost is $130 and includes all materials and a cast party following the show.
Required final rehearsals begin in mid-April, and the performance will take place at the Art Center, 1919 F St., at 6 p.m. Friday, May 18.
