Last chance to secure electric lawn mower rebates

By From page A10 | August 23, 2013

The Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District reminds residents that its 2013 Yolo-Solano mower exchange program has been extended through August.

Under the program, residents who trade in a gas-powered lawn mower and purchase a new eligible electric mower will receive $120 in rebates. Residents can choose from 32 eligible models made by 11 different brands. Participants can purchase their new mowers in local stores or online.

The exchange program will not be continued in 2014, making this the final opportunity to participate. Only 150 vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To participate, fill out the form at ysaqmd.org/mowers or call 530-757-3657. A packet including the forms necessary to participate will be mailed to you. The deadline to submit paperwork and receipts and secure a rebate is Sept. 2.

Gas-powered lawn and garden equipment contributes to air pollution. Studies show that exposure to air pollution can lead to serious health impacts, including lung ailments and increased risk for heart disease.

Questions on the program should be directed to Tom Hall at 530-757-3657 or [email protected].
