The city of Davis Community Services Department is offering two special interest classes for adults beginning next week:
* Golf lessons: Beginning and intermediate level golfers ages 18 and older can learn the game from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 2-18, at Wildhorse Golf Course, 2323 Rockwell Drive. The fee is $90, plus a $20 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day to cover balls, equipment and cart rental.
* Vegetarian cooking — Tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and corn: Whether you are overrun with produce from your home garden or just want to make the most of the summer’s bounty, instructor Adrienne Capps will lead you through some fun and healthy recipes such as zucchini relish, tomato bread pudding and chili rellenos. Tips on easy home canning will be included.
The class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Valente Room at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St. The fee is $20, plus a $15 materials fee payable to the instructor at the start of class.
