Learn how to support kids through grief

By From page A4 | February 01, 2013

Supporting children is a top priority for most. Yet when it comes to grief, the grief experience can be confusing and overwhelming and affect children, teens and adults in different ways. This difference can make it difficult for adults to know how to act, or know what to do or say to them to be helpful.

A workshop presented by Yolo Hospice, “Understanding Children’s Grief,” provides an introduction to understanding how children grieve and the ways to help support them through their process. It is appropriate for anyone supporting grieving children, including families, teachers, counselors and clergy.

The free workshop will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Yolo Hospice office, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, in South Davis. Registration ends Monday. Call Yolo Hospice Bereavement Services at 530-601-5756 for more information or to sign up.
