The public is invited to a backyard and worm composting workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Woodland Community College, 2300 E. Gibson Road.
Participants will learn how to turn garden, lawn and kitchen waste into a valuable soil amendment and discover how red wiggler worms can munch up kitchen vegetable scraps. Woodland residents can receive a free compost bin from the city of Woodland’s Recycling Program.
The workshop is free and is conducted by Yolo County UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners.
