A new session of “Portrait Drawing” begins Thursday at the Davis Art Center, taught by Marlene Lee. Students will learn to develop a likeness through an understanding of the facial proportion of the human head.
Drawings will be done in charcoal or pencil, and students will use themselves and other students as models.
Students should bring an 11-by-14-inch sketch pad, a kneaded eraser, pencil or charcoal and a manual pencil sharpener to the first class.
The class will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 1 through April 5, at the Art Center, 1919 F St. It is open to students age 13 through adult.
The fee is $75 for Art Center members and $85 for nonmembers. An additional $5 fee is charged to pay a model for the last class.
