Learn Persian cooking at I-House class

A Persian cooking class will be offered at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at International House, Davis. The class will be limited to 10 people and the cost is $10 each. Reservations must be made by calling (530) 753-5007.

The menu will consist of lima bean rice with chicken, Persian eggplant dip, yogurt and cucumber dip and rice pudding.

“Our cooking classes are very popular,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director. “Our last class — a class on Chinese dumplings — could have held 40 people but we had to limit it to 10.”

The class members help cook the meal, then everyone sits at the round table in the lounge and enjoys their food together. I-House, at 10 College Park, is an independent nonprofit organization supported by memberships from students and nonstudents.
