For the fourth consecutive year, Let Them Eat Cake will ring in the holiday season by granting wishes to those in need.
The bakery, at 310 C St., has put up its annual Community Giving Tree, and once again it’s decorated with ornaments that detail wish lists of folks associated with several local nonprofit organizations.
“It just blows my mind every year how amazing people are,” said store owner Paulette Coffman. “We’re excited to do it again.”
This year, Coffman and company are working with families from the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center in Woodland, teens from the New Foundations program of the Solano County Juvenile Probation institution and foster animals at the Yolo County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Coffman says people can come pick up an ornament at the downtown bakery anytime, but the gifts must be returned, unwrapped, by closing time on Dec. 21. There are also several ornaments people can pluck off the tree asking for cash donations for the SPCA.
Customers must register each ornament with a bakery staffer so they can keep track of the gifts.
