Libraries celebrate Native American Heritage Month

The Yolo County Library is recognizing Native American Heritage Month in November with an exhibit from the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation on display at several branch libraries. Related film screenings are planned throughout the month.

Films planned at the Stephens Branch Library in Davis, 315 E. 14th St., include “Thunderheart” (1992, rated R) at 1 p.m. Sunday and “Powwow Highway” (1989, rated R) at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

“Smoke Signals” (1998, rated PG-13) will be screened at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Winters Community Library, 708 Railroad Ave. in Winters.

At the Turner Community Library, 1212 Merkley Ave. in West Sacramento, the offerings are “Geronimo, An American Legend” (1993, rated PG-13), at 2 p.m. Saturday and “Smoke Signals” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.
