Library plays host to Southern cooking demo

By From page A3 | February 25, 2014

Can’t make it to the Big Easy for Mardi Gras? Julie Cross, the Davis Food Co-op’s marketing and education director, and her team of experts will put on a cooking demonstration from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Blanchard Room of the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

They will make muffuletta and jambalaya, traditional New Orleans dishes. See how it’s done, try samples and take home the recipes.

“The library is a place where people can learn about our rich cultural heritage and explore different traditions,” said Yolo County Librarian Patty Wong. “Join us as we get a taste of the celebratory decadence of Fat Tuesday, and laissez les bon temps rouler (translation: let the good times roll).”

The program is free and no reservations are required.
