Lladró figurines will be auctioned to support St. James

By From page A8 | November 29, 2012

Not sure what to give that special person for the upcoming holidays? Consider a gift of timeless hand-crafted porcelain Lladró figurines from Spain.

The gift not only will bring joy but also will support the St. James Catholic Church Memorial Center Fund.  The collectible Lladró figurines have been donated by Mike and Sandy Huitt from the Narcissa Peña estate, in her honor.

Proceeds from the auction will support the St. James Memorial Center, which hosts the annual winter Celebration of Abraham to promote better understanding among the three Abrahamic faiths, as well as a biannual community blood drive. In addition, the Memorial Center will house Davis’ homeless population as part of the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter from Dec. 23 to Jan. 5.

St. James is partnering with 3rd Street Jeweler to make the figurines available for viewing at the store, 903 Third St. Call 530-753-5000 for more information. The online auction will run from noon Sunday to noon Tuesday, Dec. 11.

To access the auction, visit www.32auctions.com/stjamesdavis. Bidders will need to create an account and password. At the close of auction, winning bidders will be able to pay for their items with check or cash at the time of pickup from the jewelry store.

For more information, call the St. James Parish office at 530-756-3636.
