Look, up in the sky …

By From page A9 | December 04, 2012

Scott Stanowicz and his fifth-graders at Pioneer Elementary School took advantage of the break in storms Monday to launch rockets that they have been building as part of an incentive offered by Stanowicz for students completing their homework and class assignments on time. They plan to do another rocketry project in the spring as part of their science curriculum, which will include eight-grade math. Under close supervision, students — including Sophia Fingerman — helped prepare the rockets on launch day. Once the fifth-graders were back a safe distance, it was blast off time as they watched their hard work take to the skies.
