A West Sacramento man convicted in March of 62 criminal charges stemming from the sexual abuse of his daughter was sentenced this week to 830 years in prison.
A jury found 44-year-old Bennie Dale Moses guilty of forcing his daughter to engage in sexual acts with him starting in 2000, when she was 12 years old, until she told a friend about the abuse in July 2009, when she was 21, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.
Neither Moses’ attorney, Deputy Public Defender Emily Fisher, nor Public Defender Tracie Olson responded to requests for comment about the lengthy sentence, which was handed down Monday by Yolo Superior Court Judge Stephen Mock.
Deputy District Attorney Michelle Serafin also contended during Moses’ trial that a police investigation into the molest allegations revealed that Moses, as a teenager, had forced his elementary school-aged sisters to engage in forced sex and oral copulation.
Both the daughter and one of the sisters testified during the trial.
