The Marines collect and distribute donated toys to needy children in Yolo County each year on the Saturday before Christmas. Last year, the Marines distributed more than 5,000 toys.

Local residents are asked to purchase a new toy for an infant through a 12-year-old and place it, unwrapped, in a collection barrel or box. Drop-off locations are at Davis City Hall, 23 Russell Blvd.; Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.; Nugget Market, 1414 E. Covell Blvd. and 409 Mace Blvd.; CVS/pharmacy, 1550 E. Covell Blvd.; Covell Gardens, 1111 Alvarado Ave.; Get Fit Davis, 2795 Second St.; Center City Automotive, 300 Madson Place; Yolo Federal Credit Union, Fifth and G streets; Davis Police Department, 2600 Fifth St.; Hanlees Toyota, 4202 Chiles Road; The Arbors Apartments, 1280 Olive Drive; Davis Ace Hardware, G Street downtown and Aggie Ace, 606 W.
