“The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook” (Mirabelle Press, 2012, $24.95) is featured in the March issue of Writer’s Digest magazine in an article detailing the national magazine’s self-published book awards. The cookbook won first place in the nonfiction category, and is one of nine first-place winners.
Co-authors Georgeanne Brennan of Winters and Ann M. Evans of Davis share $1,000 in prize money, and membership in the Small Publishers Association of North America.
The cookbook also won first place in the 2012 National Indie Excellence Book Awards in the regional cookbook category.
The cookbook is available for purchase at the Davis Farmers Market in Central Park, Fourth and C streets. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through March 13, then 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays from March 20 through Oct. 20.
