Master Gardeners will host tomato tasting

By From page A3 | August 03, 2014

Community members are invited to taste heirloom tomatoes grown by Yolo County Master Gardeners at the Woodland Farmers Market’s seventh annual Tomato Festival. The free event will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Heritage Plaza on Main Street in downtown Woodland.

The tomato taste test will help the Master Gardeners discover the public’s favorite tomato varieties. This helps them identify which tomato varieties grow and taste best in Yolo County.

Yolo County Master Gardeners will staff a table at the event to address community members’ garden questions and problems.
