Matching people and cats on ‘Davisville’

By From page A4 | May 21, 2013

“Your Ideal Cat” is a human-feline matchmaker guidebook, filled with information about breeds to help people who want a cat to find the right one. The deeply friendly Ragdoll appeals to people who want an affectionate animal, for example, while the wilder Bengal might turn your furniture into an urban forest.

Drs. Benjamin and Lynette Hart, professors of veterinary medicine at UC Davis, wrote “Your Ideal Cat” and discuss the book on the latest edition of the local radio program “Davisville.” The topics this week include breeds, behavior, purring as exercise and whether Davis is more of a cat town or a dog town.

“Davisville,” hosted by Bill Buchanan, airs on KDRT, 95.7 FM, at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays and 7:30 a.m. Saturdays. The cat program will be broadcast through this weekend, and is also available at www.kdrt.org/node/12188.
