Memorial service honors Yolo County indigents

By From page A13 | June 04, 2014

Community members are invited to attend a very special memorial service in honor of more than 100 Yolo County residents who died in the past year and were assisted by the Yolo County Public Guardian/Administrator’s office.

The annual service starts at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the Knights Landing Cemetery, 7 miles north of Woodland on County Road 102.

This event is open to everyone and provides an opportunity to remember the lives of people who may not have families to mourn for them.

There will be a short program, with music and readings. The names of the decedents will be read by the staff of the Public Guardian’s Office followed by the opportunity for anyone present to speak on behalf of their loved one, friend or family member.

For more information, call 530-666-8100.
