Men gather Tuesday for talk circle

By
March 31, 2011 |

The next talk circle for Davis men is planned for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at FamiliesFirst, 2100 Fifth St. There is no charge.

Men have been gathering monthly for the past six months in a talk/drum circle that allows freedom to participate or not, depending on their level of comfort.

“Here in a safe and structured gathering, men have the opportunity to sit with other men and share that which holds meaning and value,” a news release said. “Men’s work in these forms offers us new ways for honest talk, knowing our wounds which can lead us into deeper masculinity, embracing tenderness, wholeness, our wisdom and our creativity.

“Here, younger men and older men find common ground, too, as our differences are valued.”

Men’s testimonials are available on Facebook (search “Davis Talk Circle”). For more information, call (530) 758-2794.
