Model jet airplanes featured at show

The skies over Davis will be filled with the thunder of jets this weekend as the Woodland-Davis Aeromodelers hold their annual Radio Control Jet meet.

Radio-controlled turbine and electric model aircraft as large as 10 feet in length and flying at speeds up to 200 mph will dance through the skies, entertaining spectators and fellow pilots alike. There will be F-86s, F 100s, Russian Migs, F-15s, F-16s, F-18s, A-10 Warthogs, end of WWII German jets, Euro fighters, sport jets and many more.

The main event runs from 9 a.m. to sundown Friday through Sunday at the new Davis model aircraft complex on County Road 29 between Roads 102 and 105. Bring sunscreen and some shade. For more information, visit www.wdarc.org.
