Monday Pub Quiz is the last at Bistro 33
After four years and almost 6,500 questions asked, the Bistro 33 Pub Quiz has been canceled. Monday’s Pub Quiz at 9 p.m. is the last at the downtown Davis restaurant, 226 F St.
Hosted by UC Davis lecturer, talk show host and poet Andy Jones, the Pub Quiz met Monday nights. Covering topics such as history, literature, pop culture (including movies, television, and music), Internet culture, sports and science, Dr. Andy wrote all of his own questions, depending heavily on topics that came up in conversations with friends, stories he heard on National Public Radio and KDVS public affairs programs, and research completed for the classes he teaches for the University Writing Program, Technocultural Studies Program and department of English.
About the Bistro 33 Pub Quiz, bestselling author John Lescroart has said, “I think that the Pub Quiz is probably the most fun interactive evening out that one can find in all of Davis. Great, challenging questions, an intelligent and terrific vibe, super food and drinks. An all-around winner.”
In addition to local authors such as Lescroart, the Pub Quiz was enjoyed by members of the Davis City Council and Davis Board of Education; new and veteran faculty from UC Davis, Sacramento State and American River College; and a great number of students and working professionals from the city of Davis.
