Movies in the Park return this fall

By From page A5 | June 11, 2013

Mark your calendars for the return of Movies in the Park, a free event for local families.

The series will begin with “The Lion King” on Saturday, Sept. 7, followed by “The Avengers” on Sept. 14 and “How to Train Your Dragon” on Sept. 21. The series will wrap up with “Monsters Inc.” on Oct. 5. The movies will begin at dusk on a big screen in Central Park.

“When the city of Davis decided it could no longer afford to offer this service to families, Sunset Rotary jumped in and made the commitment to continue Movies in the Park,” said Charlie Swanson, Sunset Rotary’s new president. “Thanks to Woodland Healthcare for stepping up and making this free event possible.”

Cotton candy and popcorn will be sold at the park, too. Sponsorships are still available; contact Swanson at [email protected].
