Mural mania

Artist Victoria Smith paints herself last week in a mural adorning the north wall of Original Steve’s Pizza, 314 F St. Also depicted are several other artists who are adding their personal touches to downtown Davis, including gallery owner John Natsoulas (holding flag) and William Maul (carrying a tray on his back). This spring, Maul completed the first mural in a 10-piece series in the alleyway behind E Street near the entrance to Peet’s Coffee & Tea. Over the next several months, Guy Diehl, Joe Bellacera, Kelly Detweiler, Jennifer Pochinski, James Chaffee, Kerry Rowland-Avrech, Ted Fontaine and Myron Stephens will splash their artistic talents on downtown’s exterior walls. Sue Cockrell and Fred Gladdis/Enterprise photos
