The spring sessions of the NAMI Family-to-Family Program will be conducted from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 26 to April 5.
This 12-session program helps families and caregivers of people suffering from a brain disorder to understand the causes and origins of the illness and how to cope with everyday problems that arise in lifestyle and communication.
The sessions cover the major severe brain disorders such as schizophrenia, major depression and bipolar disorder, as well as their diagnosis and current treatment. Research on these misunderstood illnesses is ongoing and NAMI keeps up to date with the latest discoveries and treatment. Frequent updates are made to the class material.
NAMI-Yolo’s free Family-to-Family program is in its 16th year and is taught by trained NAMI members. All materials are provided.
Pre-registration is required and the class is limited to 16 people. Information about the program is available on the NAMI-Yolo website at www.namiyolo.org/keys.html. To register, call (530) 756-8181 and leave your name and callback number.
