Need some new books for fall reading?

By From page A3 | October 02, 2012

The Friends of the Davis Public Library will hold their next bimonthly book sale starting Friday. Members only will be admitted from noon to 2 p.m. — as always shoppers may join at the door. Then, all comers are welcome from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

Books about parenting, child rearing and children’s education will be found in the sale’s smaller side room, along with children’s books. The children’s books will be separated into picture books for toddlers, reading books for grade-school kids and books of interest to teenagers.

Hardback books and trade paperbacks are $2, pocket paperbacks are $1, children’s books range from 25 cents to $2 and CDs, DVDs and tapes are $1. New this year, on Saturday, full bags of books will be only $10. On Sunday, full bags of books are $5 and “better books” are half price.

Membership applications for the Friends of the Davis Public Library will be available at the door or online at davislibraryfriends.org. Membership includes bi-monthly postcards reminders of the book sales, which may be turned in at each book sale for $4 off your book purchases.
