Nominate a young leader for new award

By From page A4 | February 26, 2014

Emerging Davis leaders will get their moment in the spotlight, thanks to a new award created by the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club in honor of the late Jay Gerber. The longtime local businessman and Rotarian died last April at age 69.
The award will recognize and honor a young leader — under age 40 — who demonstrates the characteristics that Gerber exemplified to build community: enthusiasm, a positive attitude toward others and participation in activities beneficial to the Davis community.
The recipient will be honored at a dinner from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. in downtown Davis.
Nominations are available on the Davis Sunrise Rotary website, www.davisrotary.org, and will be accepted through Feb. 28.
Completed forms should be submitted to Dennis Lindsay as email attachments to [email protected] or mailed to him at 4310 Amoroso Place, Davis, CA 95618.
For more information, contact Lindsay at [email protected] or 530-758-1506.
