Nonfiction author Feldman to speak at UCD

The University Writing Program at UC Davis will feature nonfiction author and novelist Jay Feldman in its next “Conversations with Writers” from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in 126 Voorhies Hall.

Feldman is the author of 2005’s “When the Mississippi Ran Backwards: Empire, Intrigue, Murder, and the New Madrid Earthquakes” and 2001’s “Manufacturing Hysteria: A History of Scapegoating, Surveillance, and Secrecy in Modern America.” His novel, “Suitcase Sefton and the American Dream” was published by Triumph Books in 2006.

Feldman also has written articles for several local, regional and national publications, including Smithsonian, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, Gourmet and Whole Earth Review.
