Nutritionist addresses cancer support group

UC Davis nutrition expert Liz Applegate will tell Breast Cancer Open Door educational meeting attendees how to “Stay Healthy This Season with Immune-Boosting Foods” at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11.

Applegate will discuss how to stay healthy during this cold and flu season by eating foods that support a strong immune system. Find out how diet, sleep and other day-to-day habits can keep you from getting sick.

Applegate is a senior instructor in the nutrition department and is the director of sports nutrition at UCD.

There will be time for questions and answers. The program, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the University Covenant Church, 315 Mace Blvd. For information or directions, call 530-304-2746.
